Debate: Equal pay for women
From Debatepedia
[Edit] Should it be law that men and women receive equal pay for similar lines of work? |
[Edit] Background and Context of Debate:This debate has been prominent for years. The proposition is that men and women in similar industries should be paid comparable of equal wages. A good example is hotel cleaners (dominate by women) and the comparable trade of street cleaners (dominated by men). The proposition is obviously that both be paid equally. NB: According to The Economist ("Female power", January 2010), "in America and Britain the typical full-time female worker earns only about 80% as much as the typical male." |
