Straw person fallacy

According to Discovering the World through Debate, a straw person fallacy "Occurswhen an arguer, intentionally or unintentionally, misinterprets an opponent's argument, then proceeds to refute the misinterpreted argument as if it were the opponent's actual argument" (250).
