This is one of the saddest question I have read! 99.9% of 16 year olds have been under the wing of there parent and have been given all their need without any life interaction of life changing decisions. This country has forgotten that there is a time that must be paid for all rights, that this instant gratification is the reason the the housing is in so much trouble. -- User:Hardcase

I'm nearly 16 and living in South Africa. As with any country, we have a lot of politics and the educated youth are regularly exposed to it. However, that's the problem I have- is that I attend a private school and am receiving an excellent education whereas an extremely high portion of the adult poulation is illiterate and uninformed? It is these people that are determining who the government of the country should be...people who religiously vote for one particular party who doesn't necessarily have their needs at heart. This is not through any fault of theirs; it's just that they don't know any better; but I honestly believe that with my education and upbringing, I could preobably make quite a valid chouce in terems of government. despite legally being a minor...I really do think the age should be lowered to 16 -- User:*alz*
